Ben Nevis: The north face of Ben Nevis can be accessed by a short walk from the chalets (1m.) for some of the best climbing routes in the U.K. The footpath up Ben Nevis starts from Glen Nevis 2 miles towards fort william.
Nevis Range: Great glen Chalets are the nearest accomodation to Nevis Range skiing and mountain bike centre (1m) . The ski slopes can be viewed from your balcony. Mountain bike x-country trails and a world reknown downhill track are all only a short bike ride away. Skiing open Jan 1st - April 10th and gondola access only 1 mile.
Glencoe: Spectacular scenery carved out during the last ice age with walking to suit all abilities - hidden glens, soaring mountains, misty lochs and winter skiing. The Lost Valley, Buichille Etive Mor, and Stob Ban are popular hikes at all times of the year.

Steam Train: This train runs the line from Fort William to Mallaig
in the summer months. Recently made even more famous by the "Hogwarts
Express" in the Harry Potter films, this is a fantastic way to view
some beautiful Highland scenery.
Fly Fishing: Apart from our own fly fishing lochans, Torlundy farm borders the river Lochy for 3 miles so Great Glen Holidays is a favourite with Lochy salmon fishermen. A booklet on where to fish in the area can be obtained from the local rod & gun shop in the High St.
Hill Walking: Lochaber is the number 1 spot for hillwalkers in the U.K. You will be in the heart of the area if you choose to stay at Great Glen Holidays.
Ardnamurchan & Morvern Peninsulas: Reached by a quick ferry crossing of the Corran Narrows some 20 minutes south of Fort William, these sparsely populated areas have some magnificent scenery and abundant wildlife. Ardnamurchan Point Lighthouse - the most westerly on the British Mainland - is a popular attraction.
Ice Factor: Climbing walls and the worlds largest indoor ice climbing wall in all seasons. The Ice factor can be found in Kinlochleven. Courses are available for all abilities.
Further afield, but all within reach:
Isle of Skye: The famous "misty Isle" can be easily reached from Ballachulish, but leave yourself plenty of time to explore!
Isle of Mull: Another beautiful Island, particularly popular with wildlife watchers due to regular sitings of otters and sea eagles, amongst others.
Loch Ness, probably the most famous loch in the world, is less than an hour away from Torlundy Farm
